Celebrated flutist Dawn Walker is principal flute of the Monterey Symphony and a member of the Carmel Bach Festival Orchestra. Ms. Walker has performed for more than 20 years as an extra musician with the San Francisco Opera and Ballet Orchestras. She toured the United States as principal flute of the Western Opera Orchestra. She was on the flute faculty at Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View for more than seven years and has taught flute for more than 20 years to students of all ages. She has also been an adjudicator for competitions at the University of the Pacific, San Jose State University, California Music Teacher’s Association and more.
Dawn Walker received her Master of Music degree with distinction and honors from the New England Conservatory of Music. She studied with Claude Monteux, Keith Underwood, John Heiss, Frances Blaisdell, Robin McKee, and Julius Baker. Ms. Walker has studied music in Boston, New York and San Francisco.
Ms. Walker has performed as soloist with the New Century Chamber Orchestra, Carmel Bach Festival, Santa Cruz Symphony and Monterey Symphony.
